Leave it to Beaver! believe it or not, a feral boy about ten years old, was found by Wildlife protection in Amos, Eastern Canada, and is now with child protection services. The boy was seen last week in the woods by some hunters, while he seemed to be chewing on a tree with a group of beavers.
The boy, who was nearly naked and had long hair, was seen diving underwater with the other beavers when he saw the hunters who were not able to find him again, despite looking for hours. They reported seeing the boy to wildlife officers,who finally spotted him near Lac Figuery after almost a week of searching the area. The rangers were able to put  him to sleep with tranquilizer darts.The boy appears to have been raised by beavers, who were being very protective of him during the capture charging toward wildlife officers, and growling. He seems healthy considering the environment in which he lived, several minor problems have been found due to spending too much time in the water and malnutrition.
The boy can not speak, he only makes hissing sounds common with beavers. They believe that he was deprived of human contact for many years. The Royal Canadian Mounted Police is opening an investigation to find the boy’s parents, and to discover the circumstances behind his disappearance.  This is such a sad situation, there are several reports from years ago of children being raised in the wild and once they are taken from their environment, in most cases they did not favor well. It is so traumatizing for them to be snatched away from who they know as their family, and brought into their rightful environment. Many believe these reports have been fabricated, yet some have been studied by doctors. This to me, confirms the fact that there is a sovereign God, if you were to walk up a wolf pack how long would you survive? yet there are children who have been found among them, being fed and protected from the elements. I marvel at the fact that a young boy could survive the Canadian winter finding warmth from his temporary adoptive family, but know it will take great time and effort to help him recover from the ordeal, I pray he finds a loving human family. 🙂
