Giving Joy This Christmas

the-greatest-gift-l-sotka

Give yourself the joy of giving this Christmas!

Christmas is my favorite time of the year. I love to give and it is the season of good tidings and great joy.

All across America we see organizations who gather to bring food and gifts to the less fortunate, but in India and Pakistan I do not know of any.

Christmas at the orphanage in India is a special time to gather for a meal with the widows and their children. Praveen and his family cook a meal for everyone and give gifts of clothing, hygene products, and tiffin boxes for school. It is a joyous time for the children because they do not receive gifts throughout the year as other children do. The children share their talents by performing song and dance, and they share the story of the birth of Christ. There are over 50 children who attend along with other needy elderly and widows. Please consider donating to this celebration. Please share the need with others who enjoy giving to spreed Christmas cheer.

In Pakistan Jamil is also gathering with area children who are in need. Jamil and his family give gifts of food, clothing, and toys to the children who attend their Christmas celebration. Jamil has contacted me and relayed he would need $100.00 to reach their goal for the Christmas celebration. Please consider donating to his cause.

I hope you all have a Christmas filled with happiness and warmth. I pray you will gather with others and share the gift of love. It is the one gift we can all give that would cost us nothing, yet is the greatest gift of all!

Smiles Across The Miles!

Update From India and Pakistan

I would like to thank those who give to the children, your help is greatly appreciated!

The children of India are back to school, and enjoy their studies. They do not have an iPhone or gaming consoles, so their time is spent forever learning and playing!

The weather in India has been threatening, dust storms, heavy rain, and wind. The children have been blessed without sickness so far.

Praveen and the family, have been helping children of widows, and making a difference! Educating and sharing Bible stories with them. Your help has enabled him to offer them snacks, soaps, and tooth brushes. This is something they truly enjoy receiving. When he is able, he also helps area widows who are in need. He would like to do more, but the home children must come first.

Jamil children

In Pakistan, Jamil is also caring for children who had no home. They are back to school, and in need of supplies, and clothing. Jamil rents a space to home school a number of children who are poor or orphans.

It is difficult in many country’s to care for children, because there is no government aid. There are government orphanages, but they lack the bonding and love that they can receive from having a home to call their own.

It is my hope that this children’s charity will grow.. I do not have the means for a charity coordinator, or methods used to grow. I ask that you share with friends and family who have an interest in children’s aid.  I appreciate the ladies who have been such a great help from the beginning. I pray you will be blessed for your cheerful giving.

To Amazing Woman!

mothers-day-3247144_640

You do not have to give birth to a child to be a mother!

Children are a blessing from God,and it requires strength and commitment to raise them. There are many mother figures in the world, who dedicated their lives to raising children who are loved as their own. I am thankful to the woman of the world who have shown love to a child.. From the broken and abused, to the abandoned and motherless.. I am thankful for the mothers of the world who raised their children to the best of their ability in a loving home, without abuse and neglect. Sadly many woman do not feel an obligation to put their child ahead of their own desires, leaving other woman to fill that void. My heart is filled with joy when a family adopts a child, offering love and hope for their future. I have great respect for Kerrthi and Ester of India, who raise many children in their home, the work load must be daunting. The respect and hugs they receive are their reward. I am blessed to have a wonderful mother who I am very greatful for. Cheers to all those who have mentored a child! You may never know the difference you made in their lives.

Happy Mothers Day! ~  Psalm 127:3

Smile’s All Around!

support-1699909_640

You may not think a toothbrush and paste sound like an exiting gift, but for the children of India, it brings a SMILE!

7Praveen and his family are thankful for a special day. Over 50 children gathered for food and fun!

Investing in a child has many rewards. Praveen and his family take in children who have no home, but also reach out to children of widows, and the poor.

Children are the reason I started a charity blog, and hope to one day help more in need.  Showing a child they are loved, and encouraging them to achieve their dreams, can make a difference in their life.

1I thank those who have joined me in helping Praveen and his family.  🙂

A Time To Celebrate!

The children of India and Pakistan will not awaken to baskets full of candy and toys, indulging in chocolate marshmallow bunny’s and colored eggs.. They will share the day with family, and the less fortunate.. Celebrating the life of Jesus, in country’s where their belief is not welcomed.. They gather what they have to share with others who walk to their home and enjoy a Resurrection Sunday meal.

There will be singing, and sharing a word of hope with many who had nothing to bring.. Children and widows who have no means of support are welcomed and made to feel like one of the family. In a world where they are considered outcasts, they gather in His name, and welcome the heavy-hearted, and those who have much burden. It is a time of rejoicing, and counting of blessings, and the candy and toy’s are traded for so much more..

You may celebrate in your own way, but no matter how you gather, I hope it is a day filled with love and great joy. I see my friends with so little, how they find enough peace and joy to share with so many.. and it makes my heart smile.  🙂

~ Matthew 11:28-30 ~ Come unto me, all ye that labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and ye shall find rest unto your souls. For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light.

Our Loved Sister Betty Florence Betty Florence is an amazing woman, and spends most of her time as a missionary to Sierra Leone. I will soon be posting an update of the 2017 mission. Betty is very frugal with any support she receives. I am praying others will join in the cause.

img-20160213-wa0000Andy of Uganda was hired at a garage, and saved enough to move to Dubai. I was thankful he was able to find work. On occasion I send help when there is a great need.

I am hoping for another great year of helping others in need. I ask that you please share my blog with others who would find an interest in humanitarian aid. I do not have a charity coordinator, or publicity. Your help to spread the word is appreciated.

I hope this news brightened your day and touched your heart as it did mine. 🙂

Knowledge Is Power! ~India~

“Education breeds confidence. Confidence breeds hope. Hope breeds peace.”
– Confucius-

For nearly two years I have been writing about the orphanage in India, but there is something I have come realize, it is not an orphanage at all.. it is home!

Anyone who works with children can say, “it takes a gift or a calling”. Patients and understanding will build love and confidence. These children who once lived on the streets will have the chance every child deserves.

For India’s street children, education is secondary in daily life, if at all. They do not have anyone to ensure they attend school, and no truancy officers taking them by the ear. They simply fall through the cracks of the ICPS, and the Juvenile Protective Care Act. In fact the government does not have an official estimate of street children. India has the highest number of child laborers, and street children spend their time forging the city landfills, or “ragging” to make an income. Those who do attend school, do not have the same opportunity as children from the “upper class”.

Since Praveen has taken the children into his home, they have been loved and nurtured, and have become part of the family. Life on the streets for a child, comes with many wounds. This healing process takes time, and can be difficult to break through. The children were behind in their studies, and are receiving the help they need. In their home, there is no “caste system” they all have equal opportunity to advance in life, and be educated.

In India girls face discrimination, and are not educated equally. The family’s of lower caste, feel their daughter will enter an arranged marriage and is not worth the cost of tuition. Illiteracy is extremely high among the female population. At home the girls and boy’s, are being taught to read, and speak English as a second language. Although they attend public school, the family also helps with their studies, as any caring parent  would. Each child has their own unique talents, and they are encouraged to use them. The children join in singing, and performing plays for Sunday service.

Praveen and his father Ratna Kumar, hope to one day open a Bible college, where students who can not afford local tuition, can advance their studies. For now they are gaining experience through hands on education.

At the home area children are welcome to attend Sunday school, where Praveen reports they are eager to learn. The children are growing and gaining knowledge, that will help them throughout their life. There they are building relationships with others who will treat them with kindness, not judgement based upon their birth.

Thank you for reading, thank you for caring 🙂

Water Project Update!

You can be a part of providing clean water !

As some may know, I have been attempting to provide an RO system to the orphanage in India..

Praveen has spoken to a water treatment specialist in their city, explaining their situation.  I have heard good news of their findings, the RO system that will remove total dissolved salts and contaminants, can be installed at the bore well.

NewThis home of love is a busy place, they have children who live with them, and they also aid neighborhood widows and their children.

They hold Sunday school classes, and help children with their schooling. When funds allow they help the less fortunate in their church community.

Why is this project on my heart? I believe it will be of benefit to the home, and others who gather. They will save on the cost of purchasing bottled water for drinking.

The system will remove much of the limescale, so Praveen’s wife and mother will save on scrubbing 🙂

The cost of this project: large water filters are between 8,000 and 10,000 rupees.

Because an RO system wastes a good amount of water, they will be saving the rejected water for bathing and cleaning.  A container will be needed to store the filtered water at a cost of 3,000 rupees. After  Installation charges, the total projected cost given is 15,000 rupees. In U.S. currency this totals $233.76

I am thankful for the dear lady who has donated to this project, and I am half way there!

I understand with finances, not all can give.. but please share this project with others.

Sharing is giving 🙂

Charity Update Africa and India

heart-534793_640

I would like to thank the 2 ladies who gave from their heart, you are appreciated 🙂

image2670Great news has come out of Uganda, Andy has found a job at a garage.. This is an answer to prayer! as he was greatly discouraged, and can now start to establish a better life. Andy has lived on the streets from the age of 14, but was always kind to others, sharing what he had. This touched my heart, and with him and others in mind, I started this charity. Wasike is the man who took Andy in, and cares for other homeless children. I pray one day they will have a good career and not forget his influence of kindness.

She Is Blessed

Surprise welcome for Betty 🙂

Sister Betty is scheduled to return from her mission trip to Sierra Leone. It was also planned to hold a mission outreach in Lofa County, Liberia. The Betty Florence Foundation strives to bring life changing tools to several villages. The ministry is sharing the gospel, providing free education, digging wells, assisting with health care, teaching good hygiene practice, and helping to build places of worship.

If you or someone you know enjoys supporting missionaries who are very frugal, please keep Betty Florence in mind, and in prayer.

NewNow on to India! Praveen and the family were very grateful to receive aid this month for food, and needed supplies. I am still working on the clean water project. They draw water from a bore well, and do not have indoor plumbing, so my thought of a reverse osmosis system may not be the answer. I am attempting to raise funds to help them in converting the bore well into clean drinking water. This could save  the cost of  buying water, and scrubbing limescale from their pots 🙂

The grow bags and seeds have really done well. Praveen’s father has enjoyed taking care of the plants, and gathering the reward of his labor 🙂

India Bibles 4Ministry partners with Pastor Yatham, continue sharing the gospel with those who would like to listen. They hold open air meetings, and many people have said Jesus Christ has changed their life. There are many challenges in India, and people often suffer from depression, and substance abuse. After hearing the gospel, they realize peace can be found. New converts are provided Bibles, and they are in short supply. Please consider supporting the ministry outreach of Pastor Yatham for Bibles.

Thank you for taking the time to read into the lives of my dear friends.

Sowing Seeds Of Love

heart-1050338_640

You can sow seeds of discourse, and reap noxious weeds.. or sow seeds of love and reap a harvest!

Last year I shared a post about creating ways to supplement the food supply at the India orphanage.. One obstacle they faced was lack of fertile ground to sow into, and this is the case for many in India.

green-my-lifeWith prayer and some searching I found a great alternative. Patio gardens and grow bags, take little space and can produce a great amount of fruit, and vegetables. Last year I sent a Green My Life grow kit to the orphanage, and it was successful. This year I would like to expand the effort, to include the widows with children, and the elderly.

givingFor those who are not familiar with Praveen, he and his wife Kurthi, along with his parents, renovated an old building to open an orphanage. The children are taken in from the streets if they are willing, and given a new hope in life. The home is not government funded, and operates through donation.  Praveen and his father are also pastors, reaching out to local widows, and the elderly. There is no lack of love in that place, I have seen the desire this  family holds for helping the poor. ~  Hebrews 13:6

If possible I plan to send an ample supply of seeds and grow bags to share with those who are able to use them. Keeping in mind, many live in huts and tents.. possibly others with ample room can share their bounty with those who can not grow their own.

Please pray that this project will be successful, please share the project with your friends. If you feel lead to help please donate. Every prayer and penny is appreciated 🙂

Thank you so much

Mary
