Baby Buried Alive Update!

capture

Although the baby girl found buried alive in India has not been named, I choose to call her Karuṇa Daya since mercy seemed so fitting. Karuṇa Daya was born premature, weighing just over two pounds and battling sepsis, among other serious conditions.

Doctors are amazed that she is now thriving and awaiting adoption. Rajesh Kumar Mishra a local politician, paid her medical care. Rajesh and his wife have said they will be adopting her after the legal waiting period.

I feel this is a miracle from God, others say it was a twist of fate.. I only know the chances of being found in a rural cemetery within a short time of death are pretty slim.. and the act of kindness from Rajesh Kumar Mishra, provided the NICU she needed.

The parents have not been discovered, but I am sure they are also amazed. The baby girl just discarded, now is being loved and nurtured.

Another Infant Dies From Benadryl

Please sign the White House petition and spread the word!

I need 100,000 signatures in 30 days!

  My Petition

Two years ago I posted Infant Dies From Benadryl hoping that parents or caregivers would heed the warning.

Recently in Vermont a day care worker gave 6-month old Harper Rose Briar Diphenhydramine an active ingredient found in Benadryl.  Infants are dying because care givers want them to sleep, and give them medications. To many have used this product that clearly states it is not intended for children under 2-years old. To make matters worse after a child dies the one who administers the medication receives very little jail time, an average of 2 1/2 years. Irresponsible actions resulting in death should be considered man slaughter. I am asking that you please sign my petition and spread the word because I am not on Facebook. This need’s 100,000 signatures in 30 days or it is dead in the water.  Thank you so much for caring about children.

Smile’s All Around!

support-1699909_640

You may not think a toothbrush and paste sound like an exiting gift, but for the children of India, it brings a SMILE!

7Praveen and his family are thankful for a special day. Over 50 children gathered for food and fun!

Investing in a child has many rewards. Praveen and his family take in children who have no home, but also reach out to children of widows, and the poor.

Children are the reason I started a charity blog, and hope to one day help more in need.  Showing a child they are loved, and encouraging them to achieve their dreams, can make a difference in their life.

1I thank those who have joined me in helping Praveen and his family.  🙂

Knowledge Is Power! ~India~

“Education breeds confidence. Confidence breeds hope. Hope breeds peace.”
– Confucius-

For nearly two years I have been writing about the orphanage in India, but there is something I have come realize, it is not an orphanage at all.. it is home!

Anyone who works with children can say, “it takes a gift or a calling”. Patients and understanding will build love and confidence. These children who once lived on the streets will have the chance every child deserves.

For India’s street children, education is secondary in daily life, if at all. They do not have anyone to ensure they attend school, and no truancy officers taking them by the ear. They simply fall through the cracks of the ICPS, and the Juvenile Protective Care Act. In fact the government does not have an official estimate of street children. India has the highest number of child laborers, and street children spend their time forging the city landfills, or “ragging” to make an income. Those who do attend school, do not have the same opportunity as children from the “upper class”.

Since Praveen has taken the children into his home, they have been loved and nurtured, and have become part of the family. Life on the streets for a child, comes with many wounds. This healing process takes time, and can be difficult to break through. The children were behind in their studies, and are receiving the help they need. In their home, there is no “caste system” they all have equal opportunity to advance in life, and be educated.

In India girls face discrimination, and are not educated equally. The family’s of lower caste, feel their daughter will enter an arranged marriage and is not worth the cost of tuition. Illiteracy is extremely high among the female population. At home the girls and boy’s, are being taught to read, and speak English as a second language. Although they attend public school, the family also helps with their studies, as any caring parent  would. Each child has their own unique talents, and they are encouraged to use them. The children join in singing, and performing plays for Sunday service.

Praveen and his father Ratna Kumar, hope to one day open a Bible college, where students who can not afford local tuition, can advance their studies. For now they are gaining experience through hands on education.

At the home area children are welcome to attend Sunday school, where Praveen reports they are eager to learn. The children are growing and gaining knowledge, that will help them throughout their life. There they are building relationships with others who will treat them with kindness, not judgement based upon their birth.

Thank you for reading, thank you for caring 🙂

Sowing Seeds Of Love

heart-1050338_640

You can sow seeds of discourse, and reap noxious weeds.. or sow seeds of love and reap a harvest!

Last year I shared a post about creating ways to supplement the food supply at the India orphanage.. One obstacle they faced was lack of fertile ground to sow into, and this is the case for many in India.

green-my-lifeWith prayer and some searching I found a great alternative. Patio gardens and grow bags, take little space and can produce a great amount of fruit, and vegetables. Last year I sent a Green My Life grow kit to the orphanage, and it was successful. This year I would like to expand the effort, to include the widows with children, and the elderly.

givingFor those who are not familiar with Praveen, he and his wife Kurthi, along with his parents, renovated an old building to open an orphanage. The children are taken in from the streets if they are willing, and given a new hope in life. The home is not government funded, and operates through donation.  Praveen and his father are also pastors, reaching out to local widows, and the elderly. There is no lack of love in that place, I have seen the desire this  family holds for helping the poor. ~  Hebrews 13:6

If possible I plan to send an ample supply of seeds and grow bags to share with those who are able to use them. Keeping in mind, many live in huts and tents.. possibly others with ample room can share their bounty with those who can not grow their own.

Please pray that this project will be successful, please share the project with your friends. If you feel lead to help please donate. Every prayer and penny is appreciated 🙂

Thank you so much

Mary

Uganda Iganga Saving Lives!

If you believe in preserving the life of the unborn, please consider supporting this pro-life group, who desires to make a greater impact!

David Kisaame, of Uganda accepted Jesus Christ in 1994,and became actively involved in Church planting in local communities.

After receiving ordination in 2001,he began his pastoral call and has planted churches in Kenya and Uganda, under the name Greater Grace Ministries. It is here that he also teaches Bible college to those who are eager to learn. And runs an orphanage that provides care and schooling of the children. With love and moral teaching it gives them all a better chance in life.

In Uganda many abort their children. This fact troubled Pastor David Kisaame and caused an aching in his heart. After prayer he formed a ministry to save unborn babies in his community.

Abortion is prevalent in Uganda for the following reasons.

1.Poverty- many young girls from the ages of 13-17 abort their children because they can not afford the care for them. Many are expected to work instead of attending school.

2. Young girls are not taught proper sexual education such as abstinence, or prevention.  National statistics show that only 9% of adolescents are using some form of contraception.

3. Teens are often pressured in school to become sexually active without considering the consequences.

4. Young girls are thrown out of their homes when they become pregnant, and are forced into an abortion to avoid chastisement.

5. Married woman are taught through Planned Parenthood to abort children as means of child spacing. They keep some children and abort the others.

An average of 800 abortions are performed daily, meaning about 300,000 babies annually. On average 1,200 will die from abortions performed locally in unsafe conditions.

Pastor David Kisaame works to prevent these unfortunate circumstances, and preserve life by operating a crisis pregnancy center.
This is their program outreach at Iganga Pregnancy Center.

To educate the community about the dangers of abortion, and the sanctity of life.

Take in the young girls who are rejected by their family, and care for their needs.

Provide counseling to those who have come into the center.

Provide child care enabling the young girls to continue school and find jobs.

Provide education for the mothers to properly care for their babies.

What can you do to help?
Pray for the ministry and the operation of the center.
For funding and protection from those opposed to pro-life movements.
Pray that mothers would spare the life of their children.
Consider making a donation to Iganga Pregnancy Center,it is greatly appreciated.
Share the cause with friends and family to spread the word, sharing is caring.
If you are pro-life be pro-active many hands are needed.

There is help for anyone who is facing a tough decision that can not be reversed.. Please reach out and choose life.

I believe Genesis 1:27~ you may believe Romans 1:25.. either way we can still agree life is precious can’t we?  🙂  I hope you enjoy.

Meet Wasike of Uganda

Exif_JPEG_420

Wasike has taken in orphans for many years, and has a great heart for those who live on the streets. He works as a cleaner in his village, this is his only income to care for them.

Some of the children were given to Wasike years ago, through the city council, others have been taken from the streets.Tensely,a three-year old boy was given to him by an old woman, since his parents had died of HIV, and she could not care for him. the children have been orphaned or abandoned. Wasike’s heart to take in children from the street, saves them from child labor, gang relations, and prostitution. He loves the children, yet struggles to make ends meet, there are no welfare programs available in Uganda.

It is his dream to have a larger home for the children, as more rooms could be built, the older boy’s sleep in a shed on the property since the house is not big enough. they could also truly use clothing ,and school books. your much-needed donation can help a struggling family.

No gift is to small, and appreciated.

  • Together we can help fund the building of rooms for the children.
  • provide solar lighting for the home.
  • Provide a supplement for the children’s basic needs.
