To Be A Mother

mothers-day-3247144_640

There are woman who long to be a mother but can not.. There are woman who are mothers but will not.. There are so many who do not give enough thought to the full time commitment of caring for a child. There are woman who provide to the best of their ability, love and nurture children until they leave the nest. Some woman devote their time in caring for those who do not have a nurturing home. Being a mother can be one of the greatest achievements in a woman’s life.

For some, Mothers Day can be a reminder of heartache for various reasons. When children reach the age of independence they may act as if they do not need you, but deep inside this is not true. They may wander afar and make many mistakes along the way, but they will always remember the love and care you provided at home. The prodigal son or daughter will one day realize that moms give the best advice. So to all the mothers in the world, who have given so much of their life to children. I hope you are cherished every day, not only on Mothers day! 🙂

Giving Joy This Christmas

the-greatest-gift-l-sotka

Give yourself the joy of giving this Christmas!

Christmas is my favorite time of the year. I love to give and it is the season of good tidings and great joy.

All across America we see organizations who gather to bring food and gifts to the less fortunate, but in India and Pakistan I do not know of any.

Christmas at the orphanage in India is a special time to gather for a meal with the widows and their children. Praveen and his family cook a meal for everyone and give gifts of clothing, hygene products, and tiffin boxes for school. It is a joyous time for the children because they do not receive gifts throughout the year as other children do. The children share their talents by performing song and dance, and they share the story of the birth of Christ. There are over 50 children who attend along with other needy elderly and widows. Please consider donating to this celebration. Please share the need with others who enjoy giving to spreed Christmas cheer.

In Pakistan Jamil is also gathering with area children who are in need. Jamil and his family give gifts of food, clothing, and toys to the children who attend their Christmas celebration. Jamil has contacted me and relayed he would need $100.00 to reach their goal for the Christmas celebration. Please consider donating to his cause.

I hope you all have a Christmas filled with happiness and warmth. I pray you will gather with others and share the gift of love. It is the one gift we can all give that would cost us nothing, yet is the greatest gift of all!

help-1300942_640

Hi everyone! I am here to share the good news from India and hope you enjoy the heartfelt thanks to those who have given to the cause!

First I will share the good news of Harshitha.Harshitha

Harshitha came to live with Praveen and his family as a young girl, and they raised her well. Praveen has shared the news of her wedding celebration in their home. Children grow so quickly, it seems like just yesterday she was graduating.

Praveen also shared the news of the children and widows. Praveen and his family attempt to give monthly support to the widows in their church who struggle with daily needs. Praveen was also happy that he could provide the children with toothbrushes and paste. It brings great joy to help others in need and to see a child you have raised start a new life of independence. This is one more child rescued from the streets of India, and this is a great blessing.

The One Common Thing All Happy People Absolutely Do

everton-vila-140207-unsplash

Guest post by Joshua Infantado founder of Becoming Christians

Have you seen people who are just so happy? When you see these people, it seems that they are just glowing with energy, life, and hope.

Now, you might wonder what makes these people happy.

Do you know that there’s one common thing that all happy people do? This one thing is something that is indispensable in their lives. In fact, I would venture to say that without doing this one thing, happiness would never last. You might be happy for some time, but it will wane after a few days or weeks because this one thing is neglected.

Do you want to know what this one thing is? Let me tell you. The one common thing ALL happy people do is to give.

Yes, you read that right. How can such as simple four-letter word help you achieve not just happiness, but also joy in your heart?

Let me explain.

The Apostle Paul wrote:

Do not be deceived, God is not mocked; for whatever a man sows, that he will also reap. For he who sows to his flesh will of the flesh reap corruption, but he who sows to the Spirit will of the Spirit reap everlasting life (Galatians 6:7-8).

This is one of the most important universal and spiritual laws that you should always remember: YOU REAP WHAT YOU SOW.

Now, why am I telling you this? It is because when you give, you are sowing happiness. You are sowing goodness. You are sowing blessings.

Giving is such a remarkable act of kindness that has a unique way of making the giver happier than the receiver.

That’s why it is not difficult to see why Christ said, “It is more blessed to give than to receive” (Acts 20:35).

If you really want to be happy, make other people happy. You can give not just money, but also your talent, knowledge, time, and energy. When you make other people happy, happiness will eventually find its way back to you!

There’s no doubt: the happiest people on earth are the most generous people. The best thing about being generous is that you will never run out of blessings to share.

Notice what the wisest human king of Israel mentioned:

There is one who scatters, yet increases more;
And there is one who withholds more than is right,
But it leads to poverty.
THE GENEROUS SOUL WILL BE MADE RICH,
And he who waters will also be watered himself (Proverbs 11:24-25).

Well, human nature will tell us otherwise. It will never agree that giving leads to happiness. When we look at our society today, they are geared towards the way of getting rather than the way of giving.

They thought that having more will make them happy. Thus, they spend their whole life chasing the wrong stuff and filling their hearts with material things. However, by the end of the day, they still feel empty.

No wonder we see a miserable and sad world!

Don’t fall into the trap of believing that the more you have, the happier you’ll become. God shows us how to be happy, joyful, and blessed. We can only achieve that by giving ourselves to others and serving them.

So if you want to be happy, give. It is one of the best investments you’ll make in your life!

Pastor Yatham No Longer With Us

2 Corinthians 5:8

It is with a heavy heart I write that I received an email from Sunil Yatham, son of Jeevaratnam Yatham, to inform me he passed away in his sleep June 26, 2018.

Readers may remember Pastor Yatham in my updates for India outreach , with Rural Global Gospel Mission. Pastor Yatham’s widow Esther, and family ask for prayer.

My heart grieves, yet I know he is with the Lord. His heart was for missions, and sharing the gospel. He was always asking for Bibles and tracts to share with the lost souls of India. There is comfort for those who mourn in God’s word.

Philippians 1:23 For I am hard-pressed between the two, having a desire to depart and be with Christ, which is far better.

2 Corinthians 5:8 We are confident, yes, well pleased rather to be absent from the body and to be present with the Lord.

Revelation 21 3-5 And I heard a loud voice from heaven saying, “Behold, the tabernacle of God is with men, and He will dwell with them, and they shall be His people. God Himself will be with them and be their God.  And God will wipe away every tear from their eyes; there shall be no more death, nor sorrow, nor crying. There shall be no more pain, for the former things have passed away.”  Then He who sat on the throne said, “Behold, I make all things new.” And He said to me, “Write, for these words are true and faithful.”

Pastor Yatham will be missed..

This is a great reminder that life is short, and it is my hope your future is secure. If you have not ever considered what happens after death, please know it is something that needs to be on top of your bucket list..

John 3:16 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believes in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.

The Bible tells us how to have everlasting life, although we die.. we are alive!

Romans 10:9-10 If you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you will be saved. For with the heart man believes unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.

A Royal Wedding

royal-wedding-3411338_640

Although I am very happy for the bride and groom, I can not say I have faithfully followed the news of the royal wedding. Prince Harry and Ms Meghan Markle seem to be the talk of nations, it is the perks of being royalty.

Maybe I should not feel this way, but when I see extravagant gatherings it grieves me. since there are so many poor that could be helped with all the money spent on an event. It has been said, today’s wedding held at Windsor Castle will exceed £32million. This does not include a bottle of 10,000 dollar whisky, created by Royal Salute, in honor of the Prince and his bride. It was an exquisite gift, being limited edition crafted in American oak casks. I cringe at the thought of 10,000 dollars being filtered through their kidneys!.

I am sure this will a day the world will remember. I was delighted to see that Prince Harry and Meghan, requested that wedding gifts be made in the form of contributions to selected charity’s. This was the icing on the lemon and Elderflower cake for me!

I pray God will bless their beautiful union, as I await my royal wedding. It has been paid in full, and until that day I strive to keep my garment from spots or wrinkles, and oil in my lamp.  ~Matthew 25:6~ 🙂

Knowledge Is Power! ~India~

“Education breeds confidence. Confidence breeds hope. Hope breeds peace.”
– Confucius-

For nearly two years I have been writing about the orphanage in India, but there is something I have come realize, it is not an orphanage at all.. it is home!

Anyone who works with children can say, “it takes a gift or a calling”. Patients and understanding will build love and confidence. These children who once lived on the streets will have the chance every child deserves.

For India’s street children, education is secondary in daily life, if at all. They do not have anyone to ensure they attend school, and no truancy officers taking them by the ear. They simply fall through the cracks of the ICPS, and the Juvenile Protective Care Act. In fact the government does not have an official estimate of street children. India has the highest number of child laborers, and street children spend their time forging the city landfills, or “ragging” to make an income. Those who do attend school, do not have the same opportunity as children from the “upper class”.

Since Praveen has taken the children into his home, they have been loved and nurtured, and have become part of the family. Life on the streets for a child, comes with many wounds. This healing process takes time, and can be difficult to break through. The children were behind in their studies, and are receiving the help they need. In their home, there is no “caste system” they all have equal opportunity to advance in life, and be educated.

In India girls face discrimination, and are not educated equally. The family’s of lower caste, feel their daughter will enter an arranged marriage and is not worth the cost of tuition. Illiteracy is extremely high among the female population. At home the girls and boy’s, are being taught to read, and speak English as a second language. Although they attend public school, the family also helps with their studies, as any caring parent  would. Each child has their own unique talents, and they are encouraged to use them. The children join in singing, and performing plays for Sunday service.

Praveen and his father Ratna Kumar, hope to one day open a Bible college, where students who can not afford local tuition, can advance their studies. For now they are gaining experience through hands on education.

At the home area children are welcome to attend Sunday school, where Praveen reports they are eager to learn. The children are growing and gaining knowledge, that will help them throughout their life. There they are building relationships with others who will treat them with kindness, not judgement based upon their birth.

Thank you for reading, thank you for caring 🙂

Pre- Abortion Counseling at Iganga!

Caring guidance preserves life!

Although Uganda has abortion restrictions, they are performed daily.

[1] 1.2 Million Ugandan woman face unwanted pregnancy each year, in which 26% lead in abortion. Woman living in rural communities are at further risk of having complications during an abortion procedure. Many clinics refer woman to pre- abortion counseling before they agree to perform the procedure.

David Kisaame, of Iganga Crisis Pregnancy Center, fills this need with gladness!

In a recent testimony, David shared how he counseled an unnamed couple, who sought an abortion of their seventh child. Being a pastor, David went to the Bible, and shared how sacred life is to God. Many who come to the pregnancy center, know nothing about God or the Bible. David reads scripture that shows, life begins at conception. The worries that this couple faced, is shared by all the others who came before them. This couple felt that one more mouth to feed, would be far to difficult. David shared many events of hardship from the Bible, and how the Lord gave them all strength to gain victory. Using wisdom like Solomon, David asked the question, ” Having six children, and one in the womb, which brings you more burden to sustain”? They replied “the six”. Jokingly, David said ” Then why not get rid of  the six, and keep the one in your womb”?. Of course, they refused, yet understood what David was implying.. If it is impossible to kill your six children, why kill the one yet to be born.

Ultimately it is the mothers decision, but David aims to be sure they are fully aware of what is to come. Many times, when someone knows there is an another answer, they feel more at peace keeping their child.

This story ended well! after counseling, the couple decided to keep their child. Months passed, and a man entered David’s office to share the news of how grateful he was to receive harsh reality.. in essence, he had asked his wife to have an abortion, since they had six daughters to care for. In tears he related how his wife had just given birth to their only son!.  Good decisions end well, and together they prayed for the existence of the counseling center, and Gods gift of a baby boy.

Iganga reaches out to those seeking an abortion, and provides aid to those who struggle after giving birth to a child. Parenting education, and childcare often lead a family to finding sustainable income. Since finances are the leading cause of abortion, this is a wonderful resource. David invites all those with a heart for life, to join him. If you are considering a mission to Uganda, please contact me.

If you would like to help Iganga advance their efforts, please donate here via Pay Pal.

If you would like to make your support direct, by using Western Union.

  1. Select Uganda as the destination, and send to David Kisaame
  2.  Email the tracking number to me, and I will forward.

Your support is needed, and appricaited!

Thank you 🙂
